The finale of Big Brother 22 was a good one because it led to a betrayal. Nicole Franzel placed third after thinking her closest ally was taking her to the final step of the game. She opened up about having nightmares about that moment.
Nicole Franzel was betrayed by Cody Calafiore on ‘Big Brother 22’
There were some strong relationships this season. Cody Calafiore worked closely with Franzel and Enzo Palumbo where he made a final two deal with both of them.
He managed to make it to the final three with both of them. Calafiore won the last Head of Household (HOH) competition so he had to choose between Franzel and Palumbo.
“It’s so hard,” Cody said when he announced his decision. “I mean I feel like I played this game from the second I walked in here with the both of you. I had that same thing with [Enzo.] And so although it was such a blessing to have the both of you in this final two it almost–this is horrible like to do this to one of you guys. But Nicole I’m so sorry.”
Franzel was the last person to go to jury, and she was shocked. She still voted for Calafiore to win along with the rest of the jury members.
Franzel said she has nightmares about the finale
Franzel talked about the finale with Victor Arroyo on their podcast, Coco Caliente. He asked her what it felt like to be betrayed.
“Sh*tty, I freaking want to freaking cry about it still. I have nightmares about it,” she said. “In that house your body goes into survival mode. So one thing I like to say is until you spend a season in that house I think you should really be careful judging people.”
Franzel said she doesn’t have her menstrual cycle while in the house because she’s under so much stress. She said she finally got her period back when she won part one of the final HOH this season because there was relief.
“I was like ‘Oh my god, I feel so comfortable because me and Cody are sitting final two,’” she said. Franzel also said she told Calafiore about her body’s reaction.
“That tells you how deep down I believed” in being in the final two, said the former winner. “I always knew I’d vote for him, but I just I was so hurt. I was so hurt because I could of gotten rid of him when I won HOH and the veto. And looking back I would have,” she said.
Franzel felt like she deserved to be in that seat because of that decision. Sadly, Calafiore kept his cards close to his chest and pulled off a big blindside move.
